uniadmissions for medicine cambridge? is it good or not worth it at all

hi! I just received a consultation for medicine from uniadmissions, and they haven't discussed the price with me yet :s-smilie: (i assume it'll be very expensive)

just wondering if anyone did the medicine uniadmissions course to get into oxbridge and if it is actually worth it?

i feel like the course on paper looks great, but imo it seems too good to be true lmao

thanks!

I dont know the answer I am afraid.

But if me, I would ask what does it give you that isnt available publically / for free / on TSR / youtube etc ?

Oxbridge isnt indivisible. Which are you aiming for ? How specific is the course to that uni. How specific to medicine at that uni?

@Oxford Mum any thoughts ? I know its for the other side 🙂 but perhaps in general terms for this type of course?

Is it expensive?

It costs £5-6k, depends on how many tuition hours you get. I got 24 which is essentially £5,000.

They offered me 3K last year, and I got in without it. So I doubt you "need" it.

Do you think that they do a rigorous enough job that it’s virtually ‘guaranteed’ that you’ll get into Oxbridge if you follow all their advice ? Also, weird question for me to ask ,I know , but did they ask for your credit card details over the phone to pay for the course ?

Also, would you mind sharing the name of the person you talked to over the phone during your initial conversation (when they ask for payment) ?

No. My school discouraged us from getting these, but said that if we really wanted to spend money there are much better ones out there.

I don't remember. We were sent an invoice instead of the card details though.

I did a few programmes, I found a better one from a private admissions consultant. Don’t feel like getting my account on TSR banned for advertising so can’t say it lol. My school said that having a private consultant is a lot better than these generic companies as they tend to have better resources.

We paid £8,250 for UniAdmissions’…
We paid £8,250 for UniAdmissions’ Oxbridge preparation programme for 2026 entry, and what followed was deeply alarming. My daughter was under 18 at the start of the programme. Her first four sessions were conducted via unmonitored WhatsApp video calls no classroom, no recording, no supervision, and no safeguarding oversight. She was left waiting mid-session, and there was no control over what was said or done during these calls. UniAdmissions’ own staff later admitted in writing that “the tutor did not fully utilise your online classroom or familiarise himself with the portal features.” This experience caused my daughter significant distress at a crucial time in her Oxbridge preparation. With only a few weeks left before her TSA and personal statement deadlines, valuable preparation time was lost. Instead of providing a proper resolution, UniAdmissions kept pressuring her to try new tutors, despite our formal refusal due to the unacceptably poor quality of the first sessions. This prolonged back-and-forth added stress, undermined her confidence, and forced us to seek urgent external support at additional cost just to keep her on track. Quality of delivery was far below what was advertised: The tutor admitted he had achieved a D in Maths at A-level, which seriously undermined confidence. Sessions were casual and unstructured, not professional tutoring. Personal statement feedback was a single vague line (“minor edits required”), forcing us to pay another company for proper guidance days before her school deadline. Despite all this, UniAdmissions have refused to refund the £8,250. Instead, they offered replacement tutors which we formally rejected due to complete loss of confidence and told us we must remain in the programme or lose the money. We consider this a serious safeguarding breach, a breach of contract, and misrepresentation under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Misrepresentation Act 1967. If UniAdmissions continue to refuse a refund, we will: Report the case to Trading Standards for investigation. Issue a formal Letter Before Action giving them final notice. File a Money Claim Online (Small Claims Court) claim, which will become publicly listed. We have retained full written evidence, including UniAdmissions’ admission that their own tutor failed to use the system correctly, the one-line personal statement feedback, and all communications. Parents should be aware that UniAdmissions expect you to trust your children with strangers on unmonitored WhatsApp calls, deliver poor-quality and unstructured sessions, and then refuse to put things right. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend them and would strongly advise parents to look elsewhere for Oxbridge preparation.
