CYI form

I am supporting my sons SF and he has been awarded the low end of the maintenance loan .We called SFE to ask why as we are we think able to get much more than this after wages have dropped ,so we sent a CYI form in last week. Our son has autism and is getting confused and worried as needs to know how fast a new decision will be made? We have had a letter today showing us his award but its still the low amount?
