Army Cadets

Hey,
Anyone that has done cadets any type
How would you go about convincing a strict/controlling/overprotective mum to let you to to cadets? I really want to go but my mum doesn't seem to like the idea. Any tips? Thanks

What exactly doesn't your Mum like about the idea? Cadets teaches you self discipline, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, good planning, organisation - a whole load of skills that most teenage clubs and jobs don't offer in nearly as much detail. And it is rigorously managed and led by staff, supported by the Armed Forces. What's not to like?!?

The only valid things I can think of is that it's quite late in the evening and maybe she's worried about me joining the army (which I won't haha)

Ask her to go along with you for a visit, so she can meet the staff and discuss any concerns.
