U turn at ahead only-- flash from opposite side camera

I mistakenly took a U turn at 'ahead only' junction (thanks to my google map, though no excuses). A camera flashed on the opposite side. But at this time, I was waiting at the joint place between two sides of the road (as you would for a right turn, since there is oncoming traffic). Vehicles were coming from opposite, some going straight and some going to right (on their side) past me as their path was clear. I am wondering if red light (I think it is red light + speed camera) flashed at me (with being stationary but wrong turn) or was it one of the vehicles. Later I completed the turn but at that time there was no flash.

As horrible as it sounds, from your description and how vague everything seems you'll just have to wait the 10-12 days it takes for a letter to see if a letter come through the post to see if you got caught or not. If the charge is for a red light violation you may be able to fight it.
