How do I pick the right guy?

I’m recently getting back into dating, there is a guy at work who always goes out of his way to come over to me in any situation, always helps me and cant go more than 10 seconds without trying to make me laugh, everyone said he had a crush on me, there’s a lot of chemistry and flirting, I invited him over on NYE to see if any sparks would fly, he never showed and told me later he wasn’t feeling great, I’ve since learned he went to hook up with someone instead, I don’t appreciate being lied to and don’t understand why he wouldn’t just tell me the real reason, but he has since asked me out and wants to be exclusive, but I am now talking to another guy who seems to be on the same page as me and is much more straightforward a real gentleman, wined and dined me, I like both guys but I don’t know who to choose as I could not see two people at once.
