The Student Room Group

Student finance query.

When student finance calculate what you get, do they take into consideration if your parents are separated and one doesn’t live with you? Or like do they include other family members income such as like a brother who say still lives with your parent?
Would these things Impact how much you could get?

Hi there,

If your parents are separated and do not have another partner living with them we would only need 1 parent to support you. Is your brother a dependent child? Are they still studying or working?

My brother is currently working but still lives in the same house as me.

Hi there,

If your brother is not dependent on your sponsor then we would not need any information about them.

Thanks, Drew
