I need to drop out of University because of medical reasons but if I drop out I think they will take my maintenance loan away and I won’t be able to afford my rent at the end of the year. I can’t work due to my medical problems so I am unsure what to do.
Talk to your university's wellbeing service and your course leader. You might be able to suspend your studies rather than withdraw. It is also worth seeing your GP so that is you wish to return to uni in the future you have a record of your ill health if you need to submit a compelling personal reasons application to student finance. Check your rental contract to see if there is a 'get out' clause due to medical reasons.
