The Student Room Group

Will I get funding for the 2 years I have left?

So I did 2 full years at a university but I left right at the end of my second year, which I had also failed. These 2 years were fully funded by Student Finance from 2021-2023. Now I'm applying again to universities with point of entry second year, leaving me with 2 years left if I get in and all goes well starting September 2024. I know I will get funded for the length of the course + 1 year - previous years so does that meant the length of the full course in my case 3 years or the length I will be there which is 2 years? Long story short I'm basically just retaking a year at another institute and finishing my course hopefully, will I be funded by Student Finance for the remaining 2 years?
Hi anon5465464,

The previous study calculation is course length +1 - previous study years.

This would be 3+1-2= 2 years in your case, so you would receive full support for years 2 and 3 of the new course.

Thanks, Clare
