This thread needs some balance. At least in Brighton/London, the hottest girls nearly always dont care about men who smoke, in fact most of them are smokers themselves.

Most of the people who ever complain about the smell of cigarettes etc are those who don't hang around others who smoke, and considering how many people smoke around us, it can only mean that they just don't go out much...

Anyway, for me a turn off in a girl is acting dumb.

Girls who lead me on...I mean, if you don't like me, just say it FFS

Its an ego-booster unfortunately and if they don't want you then they'd hardly care if its a turn-off trait when you realise it eventually.

I go out loads, I'm theatre (nearly EVERYONE smokes), I live in London (always have) and alot of my friends smoke. Its not the smell or the yellowing hands and teeth (although that is gross) its merely the sight of someone smoking that is an immediate turn off.
Someone who tries to start petty arguments.

Lol never say the word frequency to a sound technician or you normally end up in for the long haul. I was merely complimenting you like Tom but you did ask :P

Similar to this, men who only initially flirt with you to boost their egos and string you along. Usually they do this to many "omg she was so hot" women, often in the same day.

Biggest turn off ever towards someone who was otherwise attractive.

For that reason you mentioned it's completely allright. On the other hand, I find it a real turn on if a good looking girl smokes.

Yeah a coat of foundation often looks more like a china doll than a real human. Id actually rather see a couple of spots and a lack of extreme make up (which will make it worse) than the foundation coating. I think its somehow honestly uplifting and says that they are alright with it and that they dont care because if someone is shallow enough not to date them for one or two spots then they aren't really worth dating.

This, also girls who wear to much make-up, and smoke...thats just grim.

Guys that are too nice.

I know exactly what you mean! Men without spines is a turn off. Not literally, obviously.
Seba_Nile
Care to develop that? Thats a really interesting one and its caught my curiosity. I just wonder what is nice and what's too nice because no one likes some on who's a s**t to you.

The types who constantly compliment, agree with everything you say, follow you round like a lost puppy... That's my opinion anyway. I quoted Co-Co when I said I preferred a man with a backbone, an opinion of his own rather than lapping up what I say.

"I like cheese"
"Oh yeah me too, cheese is amazing"
"Not that much"
"Oh, well cheese is okay...not amazing, but okay"

Note: My conversations do tend to have more depth than my cheese preferences :p:

Just wondered as Im bored and its late what the biggest turn off (or biggest thing that would put you off asking them out) would be in a desired partner. This is at first sight or first meeting so it can be a personality trait, a habit or something about their looks.

I'm merely curious.

Pour Moi:
Girls that smoke, biggest turn off/put off.

Uhh.. if they were really camp? That would probably put me off asking them out, yeah.

Guys who lie about **** things happening in their lives so that they can come round your house to "escape it". There are guys that do that. *glares*.

And for the normal male population, a lot goes for me, I think one thing that I'd find a real turn off on one guy can be completely sexy on the next. I think guys who don't have a sense of humour would be my turn off.

Arrogance...at times I can be arrogant, but I hate it when girls are arrogant
