Decent enough session tonight.

Squats:

155 x 5/5/5

Quite hard. A 3x5 PR.

Press:

70 x 5/2
50 x 12/10

70 x 5 was extremely difficult, never had anything left in me for another set, so only got two reps. Did some drop sets with 50.

Deficit deadlifts:

165 x 5/5/5

Same as last Friday, but really hard tonight.

Then home.
Good session tonight.

Squats:

157.5 x 5/5/5

Not too hard to be honest. PR.

Bench:

80 x 5
90 x 5
95 x 2

Finally got 90 x 5. Was maybe a little too spent to get more than 2 reps with 95.

Chins:

bodyweight x 7/6/6

Some foam rolling and then home.

Good squatting, Smack
Awesome squats!
Hopefully going for 160 on Friday.

Congrats on the squat progress.

What are you weighing in at? Seems to me that you're probably a bit too advanced to be on linear progression?
Just a quick one tonight. Not feeling particularly energetic or strong.

Front squats:

up to 120

Was quite hard.

Press:

60 x 5/5

Not too bad.

Then some foam rolling and home.

Just over 90.

I'm only really on somewhat linear progression for squats. Everything else is progressing extremely slowly (including the squats up until recently). Although that's probably because my bodyweight isn't increasing...

You can't bulk forever - have you ever tried something like 5/3/1 which progresses monthly rather than weekly or every session?

Definitely true you can't bulk forever, but I'm far too tall to be 90kg and a "lifter"...

I'm going to be trying different things in the future. A modified 5/3/1 might well be something that I look at. I think the different rep ranges help me grow quite a bit, actually, since at the moment I rarely go above 5.

Aren't you like 6'4" or something?

Also, are you now working a real job? How's work/life balance going? And why can't you afford to feed yourself out to 120kg?

Just under 6'3". So yes, far too tall to be 90.

Yes I'm in a "real" job now, and the work life balance so far is pretty good.
Decent enough session tonight.

Squats:

160 x 5/5/5

Quite difficult. Back protesting a little as well. But happy to get a PR.

Bench:

80 x 5
90 x 5

90 x 5 was really difficult. I sort of went to one side at the end to complete the lift, which is silly because surely I should be stronger trying to evenly distribute the weight...

Deficit deadlifts:

170 x 5

Only one set from now on. Quite hard.

Seated dumbbell should press:

24s x 10/8/5

Really dropping off reps towards the end.

Then home.

I don't know anything about working on a rig, so there'd be no point, I'm afraid.
Decent enough session tonight. A couple of PBs.

Front squats:

110 x 3/3/3

Not hard on the legs but hard on the torso. I think this is a PB as well.

Press:

68 x 5/5/5

Micro loading now, because as of late the press has been ****. PB, but hard.

Chins:

bodyweight x 8/6/6

I think 8 is a PB for close grip.

Some foam rolling and home.

military press?

Not quite as strict, no, the press as it was done in the Olympics before it was removed, with a bit less lay-back.

nice nice
Somewhat poor session tonight.

Squats:

160 x 1

Stopped there, just wasn't feeling squats tonight and back wasn't liking it.

Bench:

80 x 5
90 x 5
95 x 2

90 was quite fast according to spotter by I never had much energy to do 95 for any more than 2 reps.

Deficit deadlifts:

175 x 5

Quite hard, but not too hard.

Then home.
