Yes i agree. I neglected to qualify my reply. Of course i do sometimes pa all or most of the bill but then my partner often reciprocates and as you say, its often a special occasion.

You tend to get problems at the extreme end leeching by expectation and people trying to buy others. People make it more complicated than it should be.

Also if you invite someone then you should be prepared to pay as a fallback becayse they are your guest.
