Help with my BTEC

I completed an advanced apprenticeship and gained the following qualifications:

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles

I was assured while doing the apprenticeship that these would get me into a degree apprenticeship, but while doing some research I have been told that they do not attract ucas points.

Would these not allow me to get into a degree apprenticeship?

I can't find the BTEC qualifications on ucas either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I completed an advanced apprenticeship and gained the following qualifications:

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals - This is only marked at pass or fail.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles - This has been marked at DMM.

I was assured while doing the apprenticeship that these would get me into a degree apprenticeship, but while doing some research I have been told that they do not attract ucas points.

Would these not allow me to get into a degree apprenticeship?

Maybe you need to confirm with Pearson, but the first one appears to be this

https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/nvq-and-competence-based-qualifications/it-telecoms-digital-industries/professional-competence-for-it-and-telecoms-professionals-l3.html

It is an NVQ work based qualification and not worth UCAS points.

The second appears to be a contradiction and I think you have stated it wrong. Imo it is not a L3 certificate but more likely a L3 extended diploma which is worth 3 A levels rather than one.

https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/btec-specialist-and-professional-qualifications/it-telecoms-and-digital-industries/btec-specialist-ict-systems-and-principles-l3.html

You can check with Pearson, but I would guess at it being worth 112 as the mark is 3 grades rather than one.

Degree apprenticeships are up to employers and whether they decide your application and grades are good enough. You are at the right level of qualification . Your marks are fine and about equivalent to BBC at A level. You should be able to be considered, but depends what grades an employer wants.

Hi thank you for your reply.

The grading that I stated was for the units that I did.

I have been told that neither attract ucas points. Do you think that I would still be considered with the experience of the apprenticeship and also just having these BTECs.

Thanks.

You have been told by whom? I am having difficulty identifying exactly the second qualification. Speak to pearson or the provider.
If it is NVQ it is not worth ucas points.
If it is a certificate then even if it was the academic version its worth an AS or A level max.

If you only did 3 units rather than 18 then it looks more like a certificate i.e an AS level where they might ask for 3 A levels i.e 6x the work. That puts you in a weak position for degree apprenticeship but no way of saying without contacting and looking at requirements.

Hi, I am having the exact same issue. Did you find out how many ucas points you got in the end? Would help a lot!
