Clearing

Can you hold onto your uni place and call another uni for clearing after getting a verbal offer? Or do you have to put yourself in clearing first. I just don’t want to risk losing my place at a uni and not get any clearing offers.

Once you have your results and the phone lines open.

Most universities will open their lines at 8:30am but you shouldn’t call until you have your results

You won’t get any binding offers if you call when you aren’t in clearing so you’d be wasting your time.

Many universities will be happy to take you back through clearing if you don’t find a place elsewhere. Instead of ringing clearing places talk to your firm first (ask for and take a note of names and job titles) and see if they can give you some reassurance.
