Uni Hannover

Anyone got any clues on Hannover Uni, Germany? I'll be studying there next year (exchange for law) but I can't seem to find out much about it and the department at my home uni arent being particularly helpful about it. and the new agey website with lots of flash the uni have is quite confusing too.

The University of Hanover (Universität Hannover) has its seat in the city of Hannover, the capital of the federal state of Lower Saxony, Germany. With about 27,000 students (2004) it is the state's largest university.

The university was founded in 1831 as a Higher Trade School. In 1879 it was upgraded to a Royal College of Technology; in 1898 it was given the right to confer doctorates. In 1968 it was renamed a Technical University, and in 1978 a University.

The university's profile, from its beginning, centered on science and technology. In the course of the 20th century faculties for arts and humanities were added, and the formerly independent Teachers Training College was made an integral part of the university.

My friend is a vet student there, so it is probably a bit different, but apparently it is a good uni. Hannover is not a thrilling city though, a bit grey if you ask me.

If you speak German, you could check out the schule_studium Livejournal community (you could ask in English as well) or the www.studis-online.de website.
