IELTS exam for international people

I was wondering if MMU or any other uni will accept me if I get a band of 5 or 5.5 in the IELTS exam as I have my other grades and they have accepted them. They come to 6 A levels. I was thinking that maybe they would. Forgot to mention that they want a band of 6 overall and no less than 5.5 in every each element. I hope someone can answer my post by their experience. Thank you

Unfortunately the UK Border Agency are particularly strict about IELTS scores and equivalents for UK universities.

Have you looked into universities offering pre-sessional language courses? These can be anything from 4 weeks for 3 months over the summer and end with you getting signed off with an IELTS or IELTS equivalent level required for the university. With such good academic qualifications I would imagine many universities would be very keen for you to study their degrees with the right language skills. (given that you mention MMU http://www.ulc.manchester.ac.uk/english/full-time/pre-sessional/ is an example of a presessional at Manchester uni - and http://www2.hlss.mmu.ac.uk/languages/english/pre-sessional-english-language-courses/ an example at MMU )
I forgot to mention that I'm a British citizen but I live in Greece
