Student Finance Pulled for 15/16

I have recently been informed by the SLC that they are removing my student maintenance loan for 2015/16. The only reason stated on the letter is due to previous years.

I had studied for several years but had compelling circumstances granted for several by the SLC. My only assumption at this point is that they feel I've had too many years of support.

However they received my application for support in February of 2015. My circumstances haven't changed so how are they able to just pull my funding like this so close to the start of the academic year?

I am really confused and upset by this whole situation. I spoke to customer service but they said I can only appeal the decision, which I have done. If anyone can help me I would be very grateful.
