Sorry for the late reply- I got a conditional offer from Swansea for Applied medical science the day after I submitted my ucas application! Just put it as my firm so fingers crossed !!! Anyway, there aren’t any interviews to get accepted into applied medical science, but if you mean about getting into GEM, then yes you will have to sit an interview. I attended a webinar yesterday evening actually about GEM at Swansea and I believe if you do well on a certain module?! then you get a guaranteed INTERVIEW for GEM. I believe they offer 150 spaces so I believe it is very competitive. You also need to sit a GAMSAT exam and do well in it for them to consider you. Hope this helped !!
Hi, hope you're well. Did you decide to apply here ? I have, but just wandering if you know any information on the process after ? Do we get called in for interviews etc ? x
Also is it okay to apply with a medicine/medical personal statement.
Hi @justabro4526, I hope you're keeping well. I've just noticed similar questions in this thread too - hopefully, our previous reply covers all bases? Pasted here for info...
Your predicted grades are very impressive, kudos. You are in a good position to get offers from many universities, including Swansea.
This year (Sept 2023) we have around 80 students starting Year 1 of the AMS degree, and approx 30 students studying the Foundation (Year 0) option. You can apply via UCAS in the same way as many other courses, with min entry requirements typically ABB (or equivalent), with Biology or Chemistry, along with another STEM subject. We review candidates on academic merits, as well as personal statements and additional experience/future aspirations.
