Architecture Part 2 Funding

Hello! I graduated from my Part 1 architecture undergrad degree in July 2017. I am intending to start my Part 2 studies in Sept 2020 after undertaking one more year of placement at a different firm. My question is - will I be eligible full funding by SFE if I were to enter back into university in Sept 2020, and be classed within the same cohort as my undergrad degree?

I understand that SFE will see both part 1 & 2 as a single 5 year degree as long as no more than 3 academic years gap is taken place between the two courses, in which case - it will be my third academic year next year. I just wanted to be 100% sure I will receive full funding in preparation for my application for next year.

Many Thanks in advance.

Hi Moraf17,

You must start RIBA Part 2 within 3 years of completing RIBA Part 1 to be classed as a returning student and keep your original cohort.

Thanks,

Hi Claire,

Thanks for your reply

I just need a bit more clarity as it will be exactly 3 years next year when I apply.

So if I re-enter University for RIBA Part 2 in Sept 2020 - that would be come under the 3 year bracket and I would be classed as returning student, correct?

Many Thanks for you help.
Hi,

That's correct, we count it in terms of academic years. So if you graduated in 16/17 then we would could 18/19 and 19/20 as a two year gap.

Thanks, Tégan
