Computer Science and Maths or just Computer Science

Currently trying to decide between a joint honours course or just doing computer science - I love maths, which is what had drawn me towards a joint degree in the first place, and I thought it may put me in a better light to employers. However, I'm concerned that I'd lose out on too much CS and instead be put behind. I know I want to go into cyber security, so I've been told I may as well just do computer science.

My predicted grades are A*A*A* and I'm studying Maths, Further Maths and English Lit.

With those grades why not go for this course - https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/ug/courses/computing-department/meng-computing-security-reliability/

Even though it's not a joint honours, at Imperial you'll still be doing a lot of maths and its a GCHQ certified Cyber Security degree

Fair enough, I wouldn't worry too much about the joint honours, if you want to do half maths then I reckon do it, if you pick the right comp sci modules then you'll be fine.

If you're set on cyber though, it's worth checking out the GCHQ/NCSC certified courses too. Royal Holloway and Southampton do Comp sci courses with specialisation in cyber/information security that are certified. Warwick also do a BSc in Cyber Security that is certified but that one likely won't have as much maths as comp sci.

thanks, i'll check them out. currently looking at edinburgh or manchester but I can see why the certified ones would be so good.
