Should I be eating my post workout meal as soon as i finish working out ?

Normally after working out I woudnt be as hungry enough to eat a post workout meal/shake so i would go home and rest for like an hour or two before eating , apprently this is whats preventing me from gaining muscle. So should I be eating almost immediately after I finish work out (or in 30 minutes or so) or should I carry on waiting an hour or so until i eat ?

Do you have a meal before your workout?
Not a snack or protein shake type of drink, a meal.
