i was at the open day for Sheffield uni yesterday and they said that there was lgbtq+ accom...does anyone know what specific places they would be in?

I believe the specific locations of the LGBTQ+ accommodation varies depending on amount of interest etc. The university recommends you email to gain more information regarding this, the email to contact is as follows.

Hii, I'm a first year student at the uni of Sheffield and I'm living in an LGBTQ+ flat in the Allen Court accommodation in city centre. When you apply for an accommodation spot directly through the uni website, they will give you an option if you want to be placed in an LGBTQ+ flat in any of the accommodations that you apply for.
