haven't really posted anything because the year is pretty much done..

med school so far has been actually pretty decent. the workload next year I just know will be shambles, but hopefully most of my time won't be spent revising and I would actually do things that I enjoy.

but yh

Medicine is going good tbh. Like, it’s a lot of work, and it’s a big step up from A-level but I feel like I low-key expected it.

Our exams are like in a few months, currently just trying to revise and be aware of everything. I hate essay writing the most but I love the reflections that we have to do.

During A-levels I didn’t really write at all to now writing every year is a big change for me. I’ve told myself im going to take everything one step at a time though.

Yes I got the highest in the year group last year but I worked very hard. It’s a new year and I know that it’s going to get more tricker, in terms of everything. But I just hope that everything just turns out the way I want it to in the end.

My favourite subject …?

I’m not even sure, right now I’m enjoying lungs / resp the most

Just because it makes the most sense… lmao. I hate the X-ray interpretations though, lord knows how I’m going to manage to learn that. It’s so hard.

It made me think about one day I’ll have to fully interpret an x-ray and understand what’s going on. Low-key scary. Drug names are horrendous but I love the concepts behind everything.

It’s so satisfying when everything clicks. Time consuming but at the end of the day, this is what I signed up for so I might as well just enjoy learning more about medicine?

Psychology lectures are a bit of a hit and miss. I enjoy it more when I look at the content in my own time, but the 9AM starts are just not the one….

Clinical skills is a blunder. I’m contemplating buying a teddy bear to practice everything on lmao, it’s just that there’s a lot of steps and you have to remember everything. Bit of a shambles

Oh

Let me just say, chat GPT is currently CARRYING me. Lmao

Good bye.

10am -6pm day today

Around 5 hours on lectures.

Not fun😭 I’m going to try getting some food this morning because it’s rough.. but we can do this

Bro

I haven’t even updated this in a while, I say a while.. it’s been a whole 11 months LMAOOOOOO

I seriously need to start using this as a check list place just like how I did for my A level year 13 blog back in the day

I am in year 3 medical school now, wtf….. where has time even gone?

I’m currently writing this in bed, it’s 12:40AM.. I have a 9am lecture tomorrow on I think some psychology lecture? Idek anymore at this point, never know what to expect these days

Nah fr though it’s been a long 3 years… so much has happened it’s unreal..

I’m definitely starting to understand medicine a lot more though now that I’ve been in it for a while.

We’re currently on a haematology block and ngl it’s acc shambles… learning the different medications, antiplatelets, fibirnolytics, and where it inhibits the effects on the coagulation cascade etc etc… all completely shambolic but I’m managing to come to grips with it all somehow? Though I think? I’m not even sure until we have exams

I’m definitely going to try and start posting on here updates and potentially checklists though

I hate to say it but medicine so far has given me a challenge, not even just in terms of content but about how to balance the 101 things that occur simultaneously….

But oh well…

P.S

Content wise, we currently have roughly around 5 lectures in a packed day.,

No these aren’t 20 slides each, we’re looking at around 50-70 at best of pure content 😂😂

Yeah, completely crazy

Anki is carrying me though

Coffee is the love of my life

I’m severely sleep deprived

Why do I even do this to myself? I don’t know, but I like to convince myself that everything will be okay

Just need to keep on top of it but also eat lots and lots of good food (had kfc 20 wings for £7 the other day can’t go wrong)

The way I see it is, do the work and then treat yourself after… simple as that lol

Update check in

Nothing new
Still pushing thru lol
Still doing the Anki

Currently 5:15am
No I haven’t slept

Can I sleep? No.. why? I probably need hypnotics, I need a well establish GABA-r agonist to increase my sleep levels
(Cheeky revision) Yh I give up w med at this point😭

Still so much content
But we will get through it day by day

my mental health rn: finished

it was Valentine’s Day 2025 yesterday
Happy day, different perspective

Numb, and destroyed. Future self probably knows why.

Coping day by day trying to push through it all. Silent battles but still smiling no matter what. I’d hate to bother anyone.

Exams soon
But I feel like I’m going to test my mental health rather than actual content. Rough. But we will endure.

Ah
It’s fine, Idek why I’m writing this
But I’m proud of you for coming this far

Entering year 4 med school (year 3)

Insane haha

I recently got my first ever scrubs, such a nice feeling being able to feel like I’ve earnt it.

I bought some too, very expensive though sadly
however it was very much needed

We start clinical years in September and im low-key excited haha. Idek why. I’m currently on holiday but I might start preparing for September

I low-key miss medicine and can’t wait to start learning again. Didn’t think I’d say it but it’s gave me a routine and it feels like I’m working on something day by day
