This guy just called me ugly on a dating app

Title ^

I mean I know i’m not model pretty but I thought I was at least decent looking.

Until this has happened.

Feeling a bit crap right now tbf. :frown:

I know no one can do anything about it but just wanted to vent online.

I think that says more about him, than it does you. Sadly you will come across unkind people online, but try not to let their views impact the way you feel. What advice would you give to a friend in this situation?...
Seems like he’s a bit of a sad and lonely and broken man then if he’s spending time at Christmas matching with women he thinks are ugly purely to send out hatred. I wonder what happened that he’s so lacking in the skills to socialise like a human

The problem with 'online' is that some people feel its perfectly okay to say things there that they would never say to you in person.

Solution? Stay off social media - its essentially other people's idea of their fantasy lives.
And stay off dating sites - you have just experienced why they are soul destroying.

Smile and talk to people.

Unless you live in a convent, this is the usual way of increasing your friendship group.

I don't really believe in 'ugly'. Perhaps, you're not conventionally attractive and that's okay. If we all looked the same, it would be such a bore. There will be people who'll find your type of attractive beautiful. Even some people have called Margot Robbie or Beyonce ugly. You can't be attractive to everyone but there is someone for everyone. Just as some people won't find you good-looking, so many people will find you gorgeous.

Please, don't let the words of a few ruin your view of yourself. They're out there, having fun and enjoying their lives while you're wasting your precious time thinking about people who aren't thinking of you. Please, try your best to forget them and give your energy to people who want it.

You should look at the positive that he was honest as long as it did not feel malicious. Consider how to improve and move on.

It is better to be honest with yourself than live life in delusion until someone shatters it in real life.

Good luck

Calling someone ugly isn't very kind or nice

I saw something recently, where it said even if 99% of people found u unattractive, 80 million people would still find you attractive . So don't be disheartened there are plenty of people who will find you pretty.

It isn't but the person probably was being honest.

Of course not. You don't need surgery. Surgery ruins lots of women, especially beautiful ones. I bet you are gorgeous and the lad was being stupid.

Block him and be happy.
