Relationship Advice? Am I Overthinking?

My boyfriends a gamer and loves technology. His ex was into games and tech, the same sort of stuff that he is into. However, I am not.

It’s not that I’m not into it, I just don’t have a pc or the time to play the games he likes and I don’t know anything about technology.

He was talking to me about different technical games, like a triple A game i think? and i asked him what he meant for a word he mentioned. He then said that he forgot that I don’t know much about technology and that it would be more interesting if I did. Then he proceeded to say that he’s just been around “people who do know and like the same sort of stuff” as him. I got upset because I didn’t think it mattered if I did or didn’t know about technology and he sort of blew up at me for making a big deal out of it.

Am I just overthinking? Does it matter that I don’t know much about it?
Hi,

The term triple a games are games that are of high cost and profile but produced and distributed across established publishers. Due to popularity in simpler words big name games that everyone plays. In reference to what your boyfriend said don’t be disheartened or upset by it maybe his previous exes if he had any or then again his gaming friends because of the online chat rooms and features a game has to socialise he maybe in reference to that. Is there anything to overthink about by what he said no.. but obviously if you actively want to engage in his interest and hobbies which strengths your bond just learn the type of triple AAA games around you namely examples Call of Duty and FIFA and the way you play them. Otherwise it’s nothing to overthink about.

From what you’ve said, gaming and tech is his personality so in a way you kinda know what you’ve gotten yourself into. You either adapt or it’ll get difficult for you emotionally ig? So just similar hobbies that both of you can get into and bond over
