Nottingham uni's reputation???
Hey, i came to nottingham uni with the impression that it was a really good uni, one of the best in the country. and dont get me wrong, i love it here, i think its a great place to live.
but im kinda naive about unis, so what is the general consensus from everyone on nottingham unis rep???
id especially like to hear from people applying to uni now, like what theyve heard about us.
i ask because my school was adamant that youd failed in life unless you went to oxford or cambridge, was a really stuck up place...so these reputations never filtered their way down to us lowly students!

What would Nottingham's flagship course be? Economics?
Politics, Economics, Law and Medicine are probably Nottingham's flagship courses.
Why would that be?

Notts Uni has a very good reputation - always ranked in the top ten or thereabouts. It has some great departments in terms of teaching and facilities and preospective employers regard a Notts degree very highly.
And Medicine and Economics always seem to be the ones it is well known for.
(Don't know about Law or Politics, though...)

Notts law and politics are both very good, I'd say those 4 courses were the best ones relative to the rest of the country that Nottingham has to offer.

I think its pretty safe to say notts is more highly regarded than hull, i'm going to notts in sept 08 and really can't wait its highly ranked AND also has a decent nightlife whereas other places such as warwich bath bristol durham oxbridge are quite literally dead (in terms of nightlife)

No, Hull is a pretty good uni.
Hull isn't terrible, but its not in the same 'group' as nottingham, it has its own specialisms..nottingham has an excellent reputation for graduate prospectives
Nottingham is "party town" according to one of my friends. He's worked at ML for several years now as well.
