Can someone explain teacher training funding to me?
I'm starting an undergrad degree in English. I'd like to after that do a year postgrad degree in education - a full time PGCE training, and hopefully go on to teach english at a secondary school level. Someone told me it was different for teacher training, but they didn't think to explain.

Once you have completed your undergraduate degree, ordinarily you are not eligible to receive further undergraduate funding. PGCE courses are funded in the same way as your normal undergraduate course.
However, if you go on to study your PGCE you are eligible to receive full funding for your course as this is an exception course, you will receive funding as long as you don't hold QTS.
