Physics Work Experience

Hi,

I'm currently a Year 12 student doing Physics, Chem and Maths and I want to apply to Physics courses at some of the most competitive unis in the UK

I'm doing Work Experience at a bank but I don't feel that links well enough with Physics (considering I would like to go into the research industry).

I was wondering about what sort of Work Experience Placements I can get (considering a lot of deadlines for certain placements have already been passed) that link to research (such as Physics Lab Work Experience or something like that). I'm not gonna lie, it's gotten me pretty stressed because I don't feel my work experience makes me very competitive at the moment (although I have done Virtual Work experience with Airbus even though it links more to engineering, I still don't feel it holds the same value as real-world work experience for reaserch)

Just wondering if I could get any sort of help/advice

Thanks a lot for your help

You don't really need work experience but you do need to show interest in your subject. There are many virtual courses/MOOCs that you could try.

For example, the Uni of York runs a year 12 course in July (application deadline has passed but you might find others at other unis):
