Student finance for a second degree

I have a ba degree in marketing and want to study bsc dental hygiene and dental thearpy. I already used 3 years of tuition loan and maintenance loan for my first degree. Will I be able to claim student finance again or is there any other kind of loan I could get to fund my second degree?

Hi Amy,

Normally if you already hold a degree, we wouldn't fund you for another unless it's in one of our exception courses. The below courses show as our Allied Health Profession Courses (AHP) which are an exception courses.

- Dental hygiene (Honours degree, diploma or foundation degree)
- Dental therapy (Honours degree, diploma or foundation degree)
- Dental hygiene and dental therapy (Joint or dual honours)

AHP and NHS courses will be exempt from previous study and ELQ rules. Therefore if you already hold a degree or have previous study you will still be eligible to access the full package of funding.

Thanks,
Claire
