second degree funding

hi I have a degree in law but would like to go back in 202r for a second degree part time in biomedical science in either manchester Metropolitan University, university of chester, or university of salford. as I don't have the requirements and have to take the foundation route will this also be funded?

Hi Umar0410,

Yes, if it is an integrated part of the course and is a course which is funded by SFE.

Thanks, Clare

Hi @Umar0410

It's great to hear that you're considering the University of Chester for your second degree! We're sure you've probably already taken a look at our webpage for Biomedical Science with a Foundation Year, but just in case, here is an easy access link with lots of information about the degree - https://www1.chester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/biomedical-science?mode=393-33589

We have a current Biomedical Science student, Sarah, who is available to chat with online if you'd like to get some first hand knowledge of what it's like to study this course at Chester - https://www1.chester.ac.uk/ask?unibuddy=buddies%2Fstudents%2F6354ea73787d1a6eeb3a78d8

If you haven't already booked a place, you might be interested in our upcoming Open Days where you can meet the Biomedical Science academic department, join in on a subject session, chat with current students and ask our student support departments any questions on things like finance and the application process. Take a look here for more info - https://www1.chester.ac.uk/open-days

Adding a Foundation Year is simply seen as undertaking a 4-year degree, rather than a 3-year degree and therefore the same tuition fees apply. You can find more information about fees and funding here - https://www1.chester.ac.uk/undergraduate/finance. We'd recommend contacting our admissions team directly as they can provide you with information relating to you and your personal circumstances, especially as this will be your second degree. They can be reached via email - [email protected].

Hope this helps but do let us know if you have any further questions.

Best wishes,
Becky
