Where to apply URGENT

Hi,

can i apply to Queen Mary's (barts) with a ucat score of 2850 safely? i don't want to hear about one-off occurrences of a person getting 2500 and getting in. do people with my score generally tend to receive offers or should i apply somewhere with lower ucat requirements? could anyone suggest any unis i could safely apply to?

btw gcses and 4 a levels (bio chem maths and latin) are all A* and SJT is band 1.

thanks

Hi.

Post your score and information (as per the first post) in the thread below.

https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7312527

And somebody will be able to spot your query easier.

You have a bit of time before the middle of Oct, so dont worry too much on timings.

thanks for your reply. i wish i had until oct but my school counts med applicants as 'early applicants,' so they want us to have finalised what unis we are applying to and have handed in our personal statements by mid sept so they can review and submit our ucas applications earlier.

Hey QMUL score top three a levels inclusive of bio and chem i believe plus UCAT. This years cut off was 2880. With ucas tariff of 168 for your three top a levels you’d have needed a UCAT of 2720 so I think you’d be alright for them x

if the cut off this year was so high i feel like it would def be higher for 2024 entry that's why i'm scared :frown: i'm considering applying to 2 competitive bmat unis so i want my ucat unis to be relatively safer. i'm mainly applying to QMUL because i want to stay in london and i def can't apply to kings so i had queens and st georges in mind.

Cutoff shouldn’t go up 130 points, I think you will be fine

All in the same boat I fear !

Youve still got plenty of time. Post your info in the which med school megathrrad in the format required

https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7312527

Then scrutinise the admissions policies for the suggested unis ery carefully, esp what they wish to see on your PS (if anything) and craft it to fit that.

Good luck with your application.
