Pharmacy to medicine

Hi, i wanted to know if I do pharmacy undergrad can i transfer to medicine after the first year since the courses are quite similar. Whats the procedure and requirements. I originally wanted to do medicine but didnt get the predicted grades so I am trying to get the grades for my a levels and then want to apply next year. I also dont want to take a gap year since im not sure il achieve those grades and wasting a year will be pointless. If I get the a level grades and get into pharmacy is it possible to either transfer to medicine after first year or drop out and apply. Also theres a medicine degree apprenticeship starting for 2025 entry so would I be able to apply for that whilst on my pharmacy course?

Take the gap year, dont waste time or funding on a course you have no intention of doing. Transfers are very rare and/or impossible for most courses.

You would only be "wasting" a year if you did a course you dont actually want to do. Being in education on a path you may not want is much worse than being sat on your arse at home or working and earning money. Take a gap year.

Med transfers are impossible unless there is a specific progression route at your uni, (usually incredibly competitive and from bio/life sciences courses).

As above, would highly unrecommend trying to retake AL's concurrent with undergrad study. A recipe for disaster.
