What do you mean 'Core HQ'? The PEdOs I know have had the chance to pursue their own desires within the limitations of the system and the postings available at the time - which is similar for any Branch. Above a certain level, they do have to turn themselves into more of an Admin officer to progress further - there isn't that much need for senior ranking PEdOs.

One P Ed O (ex Stn Cdr Halton) has just made Air Commodore so that's not accurate!

Post specialist training you will probably get a tour as a Stn P Ed O, but then you can apply for PJI or an AT specialist.

Thanks, it was something i had read i now understand it is inaccurate. I have done a degree in physiotherapy so my chosen career line is remedial instructor. Just panicking about the interview!!
I'm still giggling my tits off at the abbreviation...

So, want to be a PEdO, do you son?

The RAF is the place for you!

Great advertising that... Just be careful with radio adverts.

I know a Sqn Ldr who is a physiotherapist. They are also the OC of one of the regional rehabilitation units. They get the best of both worlds as they get to do the management side and the practical physiotherapy side.
I know a former PEdO who made it to AVM - he told me that he made it by being a very good Administrator. You are well into the General Duties world by then, so your original Branch doesn't matter. Stan - the man you refer to was my PEdO at Cranwell - and he is a damned good administrator as well.

We don't have any physios in uniform in the RAF. Fact. We might have someone who is qualified, but they are NOT employed as a physio. The Army has them, but we don't.
