Gd luck for your hku application  where else did you apply to in the uK? :O I got rejected post interview too for Barts too :'( (I thought my interview went well and actually it was the best interview performance among my 3 interviews :/) Was really disappointed because living in London would be absolutely amazinggg :O
Anyway HKU dentistry seems really lenient for missing the offer grades, I know 2 ppl who missed their offer grades last year and hku still took them in :O I don't think they will consider me tbh but I might ring them up after a level results are released for re-consideration :/

Hopefully, really want to enter, uk unis are kings manc n bristol, all was pre rej but qmu post.. Cool, mayb your friends have done real well in the interview.. Did your status change or is it still under consideration?
Did anyone do the CityU Law interview and get an offer?

For some reason it seemed like a long time already and I can't wait to hear back from them.

When does UST give out offers typically for main round?
Some of my friends asked me about my HKUST application so maybe I'll just briefly explain and highlight the important dates...
I handed in my application on 26th February (I know it's really late though ) and I chose Global Business for my first choice and engineering for my second. Yes, I didn't put down Business and Management for second cause I didn't know that I could do so LOL xD I got a call from Business School on 25th March and they asked me to go for an interview on 27th March and I said "YES, I AM OK" I didn't perform really well in the interview and I didn't expect to get an offer, well.... I should say, an interview is already a bonus for me :colondollar: On 10th April, that means two weeks later, I got an email from them with offer letter, the conditional offer are A*A*A* for Global Business and AAA for Business and Management. I just wondering why they gave me Business and Management offer also  I also got nominated for scholarships, A*A*A* for half tuition fees and A*A*A*A* for full. There was a Business Preview event on 12th April mainly for those who got an offer and they introduced to us the outlines their courses =]
The admission office told me that the offer letters will send out within this month, so if any of you have not yet received, maybe they will consider you after the release of your exam results. Don't worry too much... Finger crossed
Hope this helps.

Anyone here going to or considering hkust for engineering? What makes you choose hkust over universities in the UK?
I'm from Hong kong and I'm debating whether I should go to the uk or stay in hk. (I've got offers from imperial, bristol, ucl and sheffield for mech eng). For me studying in the UK will cost almost 5 times more than hk!

I was rejected by Bristol pre interview too (I think it's pbl because of GCSEs because I don't have them) :/ I don't think so ... One was rejected by all uk unis pre interview for medicine, though she applied to hku thru a sports scholarship. Another was rejected by uk dental schools post interview so I guess she wasn't particularly gd at interviews :/
It still says Under consideration but I haven't heard back from them abt interviews so i guess they are going to reject me by May/June T_T
Will pbl email them for reconsideration when my a level results are released in August :/ After all, HK unis put a really heavy emphasis on academic results :P

they applied dentistry for hku as a intl student or local? oooooohhhh, then I really hope that I can get into HKU. Really miss studying.. But you have no worries as you are already accepted by uk unis already. Did your friends do individual panel interview at HKU? results will be updated until August. Not sure what they mean by rolling basis tho.

Just read the stuff written about the halls...
I'm also a local non-jupas but I'm japanese. I'm still debating on whether I should live at a hall for a year just to make friends and finally get to learn some cantonese but then I have the option to save a few extra dollars and continue living with my family. And if i were to apply for a hall, I was thinking of choosing Starr Hall since it has a better reputation that all the others.

Is it recommended to choose to live in a hall? Is it better way to meet new people and socalise?

If you've got an offer from Imperial College, then definitely should go for it! You can study for four years then get a master degree, this saves time. I don't mean that HKUST is not good, but Imperial have good reputation for engineering. By the time you applied for UCAS, I guess your family can afford the fees to go overseas right? If I were you, I will not hestitate and go to IC.

That's a well sought-after programme. From what I heard difficult to get good grades against mainland students though.

Yes, living in a hall will help you meet new people and socialise. But you also need to be prepared to devote your time to it.

Agree. Engineering is very looked down upon in Hong Kong. The investment banks like it though.

Do you know did any university that have given out any engineering offer to oversea students yet (main round)? Because i haven't received any interview from them, or do they just give out offer when the a-level result come out?
