Everyday life is too much for me/drains me, I don't know why

Im female and have always found things like going out stressful/headachy and I don't know why. I've not been on many nights out or socialised much mainly because I'm quiet and don't have the friends to go with. However when I have been I've just found the atmosphere too much and I come home feeling drained, I can't say that I've enjoyed it. I remember back at school when the classroom was noisy I'd just feel drained/switched off and keep quiet, however if I was the only one in the classroom and everything was very quiet I would feel energetic. I also get annoyed when people have the to on all day as I will come in from work/uni and the last thing I want to hear is more noise.

Why am I like this? People seem to enjoy noise and I don't get why they have so much energy. I went to watch an athletics competition last week and it wasn't particularly noisy but I felt drained and had a mild headache when I got home. I just needed quiet, peace and to be left with my own thoughts.

See the GP! Sounds like a health issue to me but even if it's not they can give advice on mental health.

I've always been like this though, I run and work out everyday and am fine it's just noise and socialising that really take it out of me.
It could be health related.....so it's perhaps a good idea to go and have some tests done by your gp. It may also be that noise, parties etc. is just not your thing......and that's ok. We are all different, try to be around like minded people, where you can feel more at ease, or try to take up a hobby etc. where you can make new friends who share your interests.

It maybe that you are a shy and quiet person. I dont like noise either its just not in my nature, I am more attracted to calm peaceful environment, but still noise does not affect me like you described. The only reason I came up with is that you are a very sensitive person who thinks at a much deeper level and because of this over sensitivity noise affects you literally.
It sounds like you're just an introvert! It's perfectly normal, some people get energised when they're in noisy/social situations (extroverts), and some get their energy from being alone (introverts).

I highly recommend reading the book 'Quiet' by Susan Cain. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Quiet-Power-Introverts-World-Talking/dp/0141029196/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1471549661&sr=8-3&keywords=susan+cain

She explains how people with introverted tendencies are often made to feel like something is wrong with them by our society, which is largely extrovert-oriented. This definitely rings true for this thread - people are telling you to seek medical advice - and although I'm sure it's done with the best of intentions, I highly doubt that it's a medical issue. I'm an introvert and share a lot of the same experiences as you (I hate clubs and I can't stand noise at the end of a long day), and recognising that there is nothing wrong with that, and that it's just the way my brain is wired helped me feel a lot better about it.

Hope this helped
