I have been funded by student finance for a previous two years but I'm currently in the process of switching to a different university for a different course. I want to find out if student finance can fund me for a new three year course.

Student finance funding works with this formula:

Length of new course + 1 gift year - previous years.

That means your new 3 year course will be funded for 2 years....your first year would not be funded (except for a maintenance loan - you would need to find your tuition fees for that year yourself.

If you have compelling personal reasons for leaving your other course (evidence of illness or similar issues would be required) then it's possible for SFE to disregard some of your previous study. This isn't guaranteed though.
