Should I report him for spreading her nudes?

So basically at my school there's this couple who broke up a few months ago but now the guy has gone round showing everyone the nudes she sent him behind her back. We're all 15 year olds and most people laugh carelessly after seeing it. But today I told her what he was doing and now there are several people (including her) wanting to report him to the police. I'm divided over whether he deserves punishment for showing 30-60 people her nudes, a crime that would equate to 2 years in prison (if it counts as revenge porn), especially as he's part of the police cadets and wants to do Law at A Level. I feel as if his life being ruined by a criminal record and being put on the sex offender registry is too harsh for what he did, but then again she is now incredibly humiliated by all of it. Was I right to tell her and encourage her to go to the police? Thanks.

I think she would get into trouble too for sending nudes to another minor in the first place.

School, yes. Police, possibly not.
At the end of the day they did the bad thing so the consequences are on them not you.
At 15 though school could be more appropriate. He gets punished, but not by adult standards.

Seriously? 2 years in prison?
Not just revenge porn, but child porn too. 2 years in jail would be getting off lightly.

Report him, he deserves it.

Thats exactly what should happen to a person who does not think twice about their action. Everything is not fun and games. In my honest opinion I do think you was right to report it because come on would you like your nudes spreading around and no one made you aware of it? As I said he should of thought twice about his actions if he was really certain to do law A-Levels.

Well of course shes going to be humiliated, shes not going to be dancing in celebration is she?-Although she can get in trouble too because she sent it to him in the first place.

I must say, well done for telling her, you have proven you are not a coward and can be trusted.

I mean, if it got on the web then her life isn't going to be going unicorns and rainbows will it?

I think so as although the consequences may be bad for him, imagine what it is like to be her having everyone seeing you like that... I think that he knew what he was doing was wrong and nowadays everyone of a certain age is taught that revenge porn is a crime which can be punishable by a prison sentence (although it's unlikely that he would actually go to prison), he knew all of this and still did what he did. I think that you did the right thing by telling her as she needed to know.

You may think you are about to do the right thing but you may be destroying two people's lives in the process.

If i am not mistaken, the police will arrest the girl for sharing nudes of a minor. It does not matter whether it was her or another person. The law recently got changed to prohibit the exchange of underage pictures. Hence they would prosecute her as well.

Two, the guy will be done for sharing the same nudes. His punishment might be worse though.

In short, you will be known as the snitch who sent two people to jail. You are 15 and I doubt if you want to commit social suicide at such a young age.

My advice is to tell the boy to desist from showing people and that further showing will make you to report him. Then tell the girl to delete all nude pictures that she has of herself or anyone else.

Finally, just stay away, there is no need to get involved. Don't be a hero, you may regret it.

Tell the school. It's really unlikely he'll be prosecuted by the police if it's just showing a few friends - he hasn't publically posted them on the internet. And by the way the law would be more serious than reveenge porn - she's 15 so it's spreading child pornography as well. This guy needs to realise what he's done or he'll do it to someone else.
