Help!

Hi,
I would like to ask if I am doing my 12 months masters degree and got the loan for that, would I receive the loan for my PGCE in early years for the next year and if it is difficult to get the loan for living as well, because the training is full time and I heard it is almost impossible to work during that as well or even if, there is like possibility for only a few hours per week and it is obviously not enough to pay all my bills and for food, I am also from Poland so my parents cannot help me financially.

Thank You

Hello,

Just to clarify, you are looking to do a 12 month masters one year and then follow up the next year with a PGCE teacher training course?

If so and you don’t already hold a masters qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are eligible for funding, then you should be fine to receive support from us.

We would assess you for a Postgraduate Loan for your masters and this is paid directly into your bank account towards the costs of the course. This has to be used to pay the tuition fees and if there is anything left over you can spend it as you see fit. The loan rate for 2018/19 is £10,609.

When you go onto a PGCE, this is classed as an exception course so we won’t look at previous study. As long as you don’t already hold QTS, you can apply for tuition fees and living cost loans from us, as well as Grants for Dependants (if applicable).

Warm Regards, Dean.

Hi,
Do you meet the eligibility criteria https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies?
Have you lived in the UK for the past 5 years? If you have not then you will only be able to apply as an EU student for the Tuition Fee Loan only unless you meet the Migrant Worker eligibility http://ow.ly/2x0230oL92f.

If you are an EU student then you can complete the EU19N form http://ow.ly/IAw530nPrRP and if you are applying to Student Finance England you can do this online http://ow.ly/LhJj30lqw6s.

Thanks, Isaac.

I was trying to apply for Student Loan for my PGDE full time for the year of 2019/2020 online but they told me I got all possible loans already?
Before I got student loan for my undergraduate psychology studies and later for my master degree (2018/2019) but my university and when I checked online told me that teacher training is separate thing so I still can get student loan for it. But when I checked on my student finance website it tells me I cannot for full time anymore.

I am EU student and I am not in England 5 years yet, can I still get any living cost loan or anything to help me to survive the year?

Do you mean PGCE?

If you or your parent(s) is/are Migrant Workers then you may be able to apply for the full funding including the Maintenance Loan, if the Migrant Worker stops working then the loan will also stop. You can read more about this by clicking the link I posted above http://ow.ly/2x0230oL92f.
Thanks, Isaac.

How about if my parents live in the Poland and work there? Can I still apply for it?

No as they are not working in the UK. If your parents are not Migrant Workers and you are not a Migrant Worker then you can only apply for the EU Tuition Fee Loan only.
The webpage explains all of the information, please read through this http://ow.ly/2x0230oL92f.

I read it, but it is still confusing. I have just called student finance and they told me I can apply by using PN1 form. Now, I do not know anymore.

You can only apply using a PN1 form if you have 5 years residency as a home student or if you are applying as a Migrant Worker.
