A new country, a fresh beginning. We move forward.

The only way it's a fresh beginning is if we dump this government in the sea tomorrow morning. You're about to learn first hand what we've been telling you for years - the problems this country faces are home made and perpetuated by a succession of poor governments. The EU is far from perfect, it's far too attached to neoliberalism as an ideology and as a result happily enforces the development of a stark wealth gap and the destruction of communities being choked by the "invisible hand of the free market", but you're a fool if you don't think that the UK has been a major driver of that ideology through Thatcher and her acolytes like Blair and Cameron. There will be no great improvements, because the root issue is still there - you'll never "make Britain great again" or whatever your slogan will be until you recognise your actual enemy and yeet the billionaires into the sun where they belong

You can’t just “dump this government [into] the sea tomorrow”. I get you’re still reeling from Labour’s greatest defeat, that you’re not now living in your Socialist fairyland, that Comrade Corbyn has failed to save you from “complete doom”.

If you believe the EU “happily enforces the development of a stark wealth gap and the destruction of communities being choked by the ‘invisible hand of the free market’

Then we share a common enemy lol...

You see, this is why people think leavers are massive prats who lack any answers or justification, and why as a result many remainers spit in the face of uniting behind the result. You can't offer any serious response or argument over how the root cause of all our issues lies deeper than the EU and that, while not having to have harmful economic policy dictated to us (like it was to the Greeks) is potentially useful, it's no good when we're lock step with that economic policy anyway, instead you just try to gloat.

The occupation of the six counties ending and complete Irish independence would be a good start. Also Scotland freeing itself of the sassenachs

Which six counties?

Do you want to see the end of the United Kingdom?

The UK.

Independence from Brussels was a good start (thanks Welsh/English voters!). Now onwards to proper independence!

Do you mean Northern Irish independence? Tuis would mean end of the UK.

Can you explain how a campaign orchestrated by senior political figures, well financed by exceptionally wealthy individuals and backed by the most read newspapers in the country could ever be considered the underdogs?

I'd be more sympathetic towards Brexit if we had seen the emergence of new political voices with original ideas. Instead the Conservative establishment has increased its stranglehold.

You do realise that the main reason why the Tories had a landslide in December is because Corbyn is unelectable and incompetent. Greatest defeat in years, breaking records for losses in Labour strongholds, fairyland policies.

You need to take those blinkers off.

Agreed. The British imposed border in Ireland should be f*cked into the sea. If the UK can have 'independence' from the EU, then Ireland, Scotland etc should have independence from england

Let the job losses begin!

So every redundancy is going to be because of brexit now, in your eyes?

Based on this you must credit EEC/EU membership to the 1974 recession and all the huge amount of job losses we had during our membership of the EEC/EU?

Settle down, settle down. Independence from the UK? That is frightfully funny. The British Empire is on its way back, be prepared to be under its dominion.

Yes no problem, I have no problem answering your questions unlike you, why do you never reply to mine? Is it because you dont like the answer you have to give?

Eurosceptics were there almost unrepresented by those who held power in not only the Commons but the lords and the majority of the media only a few years ago. Furthermore go back relatively small fractions of time and we come across elites bullying us into the EU, by any means necessary. The lies of the 1975 referendum and then Major refusing to act democratically in the early 90's when he forced us deeper into the current EU and the same with Blair for polical balance! I say that because the EU is a Tory created problem we somehow managed to make our problem! The labour party has been near fatally wounded for brexit, amazing when you look at the history. I know for the majority of readers on this forum they see 30 years as a huge amount of time, but it isnt, in fact 100 years isnt a huge amount of time! Granted to human beings it is, but not in the wider scheme of things.

Anyway I digress, the reason it's a victory for the underdog, is the EU has got bigger and bigger against the will on it's people, on the will of its power holding elites. Anytime the little people, the european citizens like you and me all over Europe, every time we have said to the power holding elites, they used their power to force us to say "yes". They tried here in Britain, they failed and that's why it's a victory for the underdog! Those who held power were politically forced to listen by those who didn't!

They are just better at playing a poltical game, they have spoke to the public and moulded to what the public want to hear to win power. Labour did not do this, I dont believe it was fairyland policies, it was a condescending arrogance of we know best and wont listen.

Corbyn needs to go, why hes still there is a baffler to me, anyway besides the point, the point is democratic socialist polices are popular with the masses but labour insulting Brexit policy wasn't! It treated every leave voter as a fool. Also indenity politics is very unpopular with the northern heartlands as well, the Tories have been exceptionally good at carring out indenity politics and blaming it on the labour party, I dont know how they pull they off but - hey ho

If you're at a party, why are you on tsr?

Union Jack Wearing Bulldog insisted upon updating his thread.
I was also keen to avoid all eye contact with the host's daughter, two ex bfs with a habit of demanding another chance and some pervy coworkers that took the opportunity to flood themselves with tequila. :sigh:
