Travel grant eligibility

Hi

I'm a second year student looking at options for my Third Year Abroad next year. I would like to go to South America but I'm worried about funding. I receive the lowest amount for my maintenance loan with no grant. However although my parents earn a good salary, they are unable to support me with costs for my year abroad due to my brother starting university the same year. What funding would I be eligible for if any?
I know that the maintenance loan increases by something like 50% when studying abroad outside the EU for over 6 months, but this would not cover all of my costs.

Hi there,

You are eligible to apply for up to £6535 as an income assessed application.

Non income assessed would be £4247.

With regards to the travel grant, you are eligible to apply for

•

the cost of all necessary qualifying travel (minus the first £303 as this must be met by the student)

•

if travelling abroad, any necessary incidental costs in full
