Resident Evidence

I have been living in the UK since 2009 and I'm applying for student finance for 2015/2016. I have an EU passport and therefore I have been asked to provide evidence of residency since the last 3 years. However during 2012 to 2013 I left the UK due to parents got a job abroad for a year and we came back the following year. Therefore I'm not able to provide evidence of residency for the first year of the 3 years they are asking for but can provide the year before or the years after. I want to know whether that would be an issue and whether I would be able to receive student finance in this situation or not ?

Hi there.

Normally we would need you to be in the UK for the whole 3 years. Our team can consider periods where there was a 'temporary break in residency' so long as you can provide evidence of this such as a temporary employment contracts if your parents had this.
