I always fee like I have no friends, although I hang around with a group of people during school, I rarely get invited to do stuff outside of school. Even in school I feel awful, putting up with abuse (calling me fat but I'm not really thag big, punching/kicking etc.). It truly is awful. I hate going to any parties as my friend cirlce isn't very wide and I feel like a tag-along if I do attend and I shouldn't be there. I don't know where I belong and it is beginning to feel like I have no friends.

I was actually in a similar place too but I've just started uni so decided to try socialise more. It might sound a bit sad but I googled and found some articles about how to mingle at clubs/parties etc, went out last night and had a sick time, might be worth a look?

Maybe, I'm only 16 so it might not apply as much. But thanks for the suggestion

    relax mate,
I have no friends too, but I don't let myself down by such fact but instead I take advantage of it and use it as an occasion to concentrate on my studies.
What I would do if I was you is to wait for a shift, a new beginning like starting uni to start from scratch.

Yeah you aren't fat don't worry what the haters say. Just be cool and be yourself. You say you are 16 - you moving school at sixth form? A new start would a great opportunity.

    Mate same here,

thing is I somehow, after deep thinking of my life, had my mindset changed
and so I didnt really care anymore

I had the mindset of : Haters gonna hate

I also focused on my studies and whenever someone would tease me Id say:

Go project your insecurities on someone else

    psychologically thats what happened

Im at peace in my head now
    Psychology really does help
and so does reflecting on ur life

I started sixth form a few weeks back, I stayed at the same school as they offered a fairy good sixth form.

It's frustrating, I'd probably get the p*** taken out of me if I said something back. Unless it was making fun of them back

Could you possibly try inviting people out yourself. As per pick one or two people out of the ones you hang out with and make plans to see a movie? Hopefully that would work

Orr I basically know little about you so I don't know if you do this. A lot of times people don't make friends it's bc they try to use their phones as a shield to avoid looking friendless but that makes them more approachable. I guess what I'm tryna say is (if you haven't already) put your phone down and talk to more people who are LIKE MINDED bc trying to be friends with people you have nothing in common with is painfully boring

If you had to choose between the name calling and lack of a friendship group, which one do you feel upsets you the most? Or is it mostly the same?

They could be people from a class or something. Try striking up a conversation during class and if you find them interesting, chances are they'd find you interesting as well. Continue the convo after class esp if it's a class right before lunch and then hopefully soon you'll be sitting with a bunch of people who interest you and who you can actually call your friends

I don't really use my phone when I'm out. As previously mentioned by you I think? Suggesting me asking others out? Well I did do that today. I asked to go out on our bikes for a medium ish ride. They said they were going out with their mum, but they lied and went to the cinema with another friend. It sucks

It's pretty much the same. But I wouldn't like to spend frees and break/lunch times alone.

Woooow. That's 😩🙁. That's awful. I'm sorry you had to have that happen to you. If people are gonna prejudge you then they probably don't deserve to be friends with you. Find other people to ask out. Don't let that experience discourage you please😩😩. It may take some time but once you find your group that's a real group then you're going to be friends for life

It really sucks. There really is a lack of people in my sixth form who I have common interests with, meaning it's difficult
