Let’s have a talk REAL ADVICE

I have done many threads, but I just need to know.
I do English Lit, Geography and Art. I feel as if my options aren’t academic enough. I wanted to be a graphic designer which I don’t want to be. Then I wanted to be a humanitarian aid worker, but I won’t get paid well. My mum is saying to do Law, I do have some background on law and police. But I don’t have a passion for it. I just don’t see myself having a future, because I’m so indecisive. Law is competitive it will trample me. Many of my classmates do English Lit or language with psychology or sociology. They stand a better chance. I have wasted my education trying my best. I want a job that can pay well. But I don’t stand a chance.

I done a test on prospects where I got these results:
1. Equality and diversity officer
2. Solicitor
3. Training and development officer
4. Environmental consultant
5. Solicitor

Psychology - become a psychologist. Anyway you are teaching year 13 so by then you should have a general idea on what you want to be in the future. Don’t fret now. Spend your summer doing activities that will relax you. September should be where you will be focusing on what your uni course will be.

you should continue to try to find your ideal job, maybe take a gap year and do some soul searching. doing things like volunteering and work experience can help you find out what you want from life, theres a chance if you don't find out you could be unhappy for a while and have a midlife crisis and change occupation then.
I understand you want a job that pays well, we all do, but money will mean nothing if you are doing a job you hate

Have you looked into teaching? If you really enjoy any of those subjects in particular then I'd advise it's something you should look at. Just think of all the holidays and also the satisfaction you get from helping others to understand something.:h:

I know someone that studied to be a solicitor, but couldn't get the job she wanted after university due to the competition. Now she works at a firm handing out coffee and stuff.

I don't know much about your other options but I hope that's helped

If you have no passion for Law, then don't do Law, especially since it's so competitive and you're aware of that. Plus even though Law can lead to good money, it's a serious time investment to specialise and build up a clientele.

Over the summer you could look through university courses that your A-Level choices are suitable for - you might just find something you think is really interesting! If that doesn't work, then you could take a gap year and try to evaluate what you want to do

I have some knowledge on law. But I really don’t have any passion for it. I’m not sure if people want to do it or just for the money. But my options are pretty crap. It’s really annoying and irritating though, I can’t figure what I want.
I don’t understand how people say they want to do this, or any other subject and stick to it. I can’t do that, without being influenced by my surroundings. They just make up their mind and that’s it’s.

I know plenty of people who want to do Law, for some of them money is the main motivating factor, for others they're genuinely interested in law and justice

...then I guess that's what you have to work on. All kidding aside, are you okay? That doesn't sound like something that someone in a good headspace would say

People know what they want to do, I don’t. I’m just stuck in life. Life’s just hard.

...so that's a no. Do you want to talk about it?
For more examples of jobs that you could do look at the careers sites on the Army, RAF, Navy websites.
The different jobs have detailed descriptions of what a real person would do day to day and lots of these jobs are also in Civilian life.

For example look at HR advisor in the RAF.

This may help give you a better taste of what you could do in your working life rather than a generic careers advice book.

The Armed Forces have a number of opportunities that you can pick up at 18 and then use to build a career taking further professional exams or degrees part time as you work.

This is an alternative to going straight to University and could be better.
