African parents want me to visit every weekend

Okay so I have been going to uni for the past 2 months and so far I’ve been home every weekend apart from two weekends, my parents are very strict and they say that I need to be home in order to mingle with my brothers and also for church on Sunday even tho there is a church 3 mins away from my accommodation. I’m starting to lose my mind because the friends that I have made here always make plans for the weekend and I can’t make them just because I need to travel back. Please help the only way I guess is for me to cut a deal with them or something cause I can’t just not come home, my mum will pull up at the uni to come and collect me.

Point out to them:

1. Extra expense.
2. They are preventing you socialising and making friends properly. they are preventing you becoming independent. That is a big part of uni.
3. Theres a local religious society and you cna go to church with them.
4. They need to let you grow up.
5. You can go home in the holidays.

Let her drive all that way. What is she going to? force you into the car kicking and screaming?

Just refuse to answer your door. Eventually she will leave......
