Taking IELTs in August?

Hello,

I am taking IELTs for my UCAS application.
The problem is, that my English level is far from required minimum.
So I need a few months to prepare. My plan is to go to UK at the beginning of June, as it is best way to learn English. So I wondered whether I can take my IELTs in August. On UCAS they say that the deadline to met conditions offered by unis is on 31th of August. So it seems to me there's no problem, but I am not sure about it.

Do you have any experience with IELTs taking deadline? What would you do?

August is quite late. If you don’t get the right results then you won’t have time to retake the exam.

It would be better to try to take ielts in July if you can. Then you can retake in August if you need to and can work on the areas that you need to improve.
