Should I firm my medicine offer for cardiff or leeds??

i’ve received offers to study medicine at cardiff, leeds and plymouth and i’m awaiting a decision from liverpool, but i’ve already decided i’d like to attend cardiff or leeds. i’m having a lot of difficulty deciding between the two though, so could current or prospective students please share their views to help me decide?

The med school you go to has no bearing on what you decide to pursue when you become a doctor. So it’s just down to the uni itself, check course structure, placements, research opportunities etc disection vs prosection, early clinical placements…..

For example I’ve got an offer from HYMS and reason I picked it was because of their PBL based learning and early clinical placements as I feel I wouldn’t benefit much from a uni that had a massive emphasis on lectures

If you have decided you will not choose Plymouth even if they give you an offer, please tell them so they can save time and give the offer to someone else.

yes i’ve been doing that, starting to lean more towards cardiff as they have dissection, cbl and a wider placement area. thank you!

i can’t firm or reject any offers until i’ve received all decisions, which i haven’t.
Have you visited any of these places? Anywhere you can study medicine is a good university. So I would really recommend having a think about what kind of place you would like to live and visiting them all. and making your decision based on that. I've lived in Liverpool and Leeds, and visited the other two. In my experience, Liverpool was by far the best place to live for me - in terms of its independent bars, cafes and restaurants, nightlife, culture, parks, and political history and shared views etc.
No disrespect to the other places, but Cardiff and Plymouth and even Leeds felt like they had a little less of this to me. But other things may be more important to you... shopping.. closeness to a beach... nice countryside... welsh culture... etc, which could make one of those preferable for you.
