Foundation year

I want to ask is the foundation year in clinical science/medicine at Bradford Uni worth it? I heard that you can get into medicine after doing this course, I am tempted to do it but what if i don’t get into medicine after doing this course

I doubt that my parents would allow me, but is it a better route of me just doing a foundation year at Bradford and then applying to medicine?

Paraphrasing myself from another recent med FY thread.

Is the intention to do medicine at Bradford afterwards? If so, the key questions are:

•

What are the requirements to progress from the FY to the med course? Are they purely academic? Overall? Module based? Is there an interview? Can you retake modules? What happens if you fail to meet them?

•

How many students actually progress from the FY to the med programme each year?

•

If you met all the above requirements, would you be happy with the option to only progress at Bradford, IE no backup plan?

In most cases you would be better off retaking your A-Levels (or other level 3 qualifications), however even with decent grades there's no gaurantees of getting into med on the first attempt.
