i just had my first kiss.. awkward help

soo umm last night i had my first kiss, actually my first kiss was in the morning but it was just a peck but in the evening i kissed him for like 2 minutes straight i couldn't breathe.. but anyway he started taking his tongue out and well... idk what i was supposed to do so i just linked my tongue over with his if that makes sense? it was sort of like giving his tongue a hug but anyway i'm not sure if i was supposed to do that but anyway just wanted to know what to do when a guy takes his tongue out whilst kissing and well what does it mean if a guy does this?
