Getting into med school

So I am on a gap year right now and am resitting all my a levels. I have been rejected by all 4 med schools but got an offer for pharmacy I do like the idea of studying pharmacy however ultimately I want to study medicine or dentistry. I wanted to ask this year if I can't find courses for medicine or dentistry in clearing can I do the first year of pharmacy and take ucat at the same time and reapply to med school whilst studying pharmacy? I don't want to waste another whole year on the chances of getting into medicine so can I study pharmacy this September and reapply at the same time so I don't waste any more time and if I don't get into med school at least I'll be into my first year of pharmacy? Is that possible or no?

If you want to do medicine do medicine. Doing pharmacy will dishearten you, especially as there is a constant reminder of Doctors in that degree (we discuss prescriptions with doctors, meet surgeons in placements e.t.c). Have you tried applying to foundation year medicine degrees? Low rated universities like Aston/keele medical school? I’m sure if you try once again you’ll get an offer there. If you do pharmacy and get a offer for med you would have wasted £9.5k and you may be asked by SFE to pay back the third summer instalment as you would have withdrawn. If you ever have to resit a year in medicine, you won’t be funded by sfe. I know Queen Mary biomed allow 2nd years entry into their medical degree, you could apply there and work really hard in second year and obtain an interview which fasts tracks you into medicine.
