I hate my sixth form, everyone who goes there is super weird and isolated. ( I go to an all girls private school having from switched to going to state schools all my life).

They just watch me and get up in my grill all the time because they're bored. I hate it there

They think I'm a rebel because I skipped one lesson, big whoop. Literally have no friends there, but I can't move because there aren't any other colleges around who do the same A level exam boards

It's affecting my self esteem because I have no friends there and I'm worried I'm going to lose the ability to socialise with any human being.

I'm not used to having no friends because I have tonnes of friends in my previous college and secondary school.

Does anyone have any similar experiences, is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

My dear you are but the ugly little duckling..

Be free... be wild... be strong...

Study... have fun and make the best of it.

I had similar experiences.. travelled alot so I was and still am the odd one ..
But being different gives you more room or freedom for being yourself.

As for friends dont fake it be yourself those who are interested in being your friend will come to you, esp. if you're the different one.

I'm different for the stupidest reasons, not because I have a weird personality, well I do but it's tolerable.

'tolerable' or toleration is a subjective notion.
For you it is tolerable but how others see it.. you don't know...

But yeah.. the main part of all the crap is.. be yourself ~

I know its tolerable because I had loads of friends. I am different simply because I am not a catholic private school girl. I'm a state school edgy lesbian, it's like a wolf trying to fit in with a pack of ducks? It doesn't work does it ?

Hello,

I've been in a similar situation as you before and I can empathise with how you feel.

You've probably been given this piece of advice a myriad of times before but ignore them. Judgmental and unpleasant people like them won't get far in life with an attitude and mindset like that, they really won't. And by ignoring them, you're not responding to them and speaking from experience when I say this, the less you respond to negative people such as them, the more peaceful your life becomes. This is because you're not feeling this negative energy and you're not having to carry it around with you all the time. It'll feel as if a massive weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

Also, in a way, feel flattered. I know this sounds *incredibly* bizarre and you'll probably think "wha..? That doesn't make any sense!" But the fact they're taking time out of their lives to talk and pass judgment about you says a lot about how insecure they are.

I've been to schools where I've felt incredibly bored and lonely for months on end and I eventually found friends by attending extracurriculars (I don't know if they exist in sixth form because I am a GCSE student!) or societies that you enjoy. By attending those, you'll meet other like-minded fellows like you and even find a friend in one or two of them! So my answer is 'yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel'!

And don't fret about what *could* happen. They'll only happen if you allow them to! Try and think of everything you confront in a more positive light. It changes how you act and what you think and say *dramatically*. I know it sounds difficult but with time and practice, it'll become second nature!

Also seek comfort in perhaps the school counsellor there or phone your mum/dad/sibling on a daily basis. Talking to family or simply someone who'll just listen makes a whole lotta difference!

I hope this advice helps!
