I'm 35 and I feel a bit like a falier. I'm multi talented but with the way society is no one gives a **** unless you have previous experience. And the system is just uttet ********. No ones ever given me the time of day. If been stuck like this for years. No income no job still living at home..it seems hopeless but I keep trying. But I'm fed up of trying. Half my life is gone and I'm still going nowhere. It sucks.

Turned 21 a few days ago, i feel ive completely wasted the developing years of my life doing nothing at all, socially and acadamically. All Ive done since I was 10 is just sit in my house and play games and watch pointless videos just to kill time. At the time I was around 14/15 I knew I needed to start being productive and actually do something with life e.g get into fitness, have a job etc. but always ended up telling myself that I have a lot of time ahead of me, boy I was wrong.

Socially never really had the friends I wanted to have, barely ever step foot outside the house. Didnt go to any events such as prom whereas everyone I have encountered has gone. Makes me feel very low on the things Ive missed out on and didnt get to experience and that the time for that will never come back.

Anyone reading this who are in school, you better take action if you havent already cause you dont wanna be like me and regret not doing anything about yourself.

someone please send me back 5 years!!

This is a common problem now a days, many teenagers don't listen to their parent's advise and they think as long as they are enjoying their time then they are okay. but then when they get older they regret wasting a hell lot of time on nothing productive

yeah i pretty much wasted my teenage years. was plagued by social anxiety and no real desire to socialise except playing football. the route cause too much escapism - youtube, video games, internet forums, and porn. all these things were just better/replacement than parties and getting with women. i wish i found no fap i would have totally lived a completely diff youth. its not just about it would have made me a bit more social and interested in women its the whole package the increased motivation, energy and focus on self improvement; cutting bs activities, replacing with going to the gym, reading, meditating, studying more, learning how to socialise and talk to girls

also its knowing that the chance of being born is basically zero, every single moment on earth is a miracle, every single dya there are infinite opportunities, experiences, people to meet etc. cant believe had the balls to waste it.

everyone should delete their tsr put on k9 blocker blocking everything except productive sites, and just going out into the wlorld and live

Youve basically described me there, all these bs activities that Ive had for years completely wasted all those years what couldve been productive and by now I couldve been quite a success at least for my standards, right now im just a waste of space and my standards aint even that high lol.
So how old are you?
I’m 37 and until I got diagnosed with cancer at 31 I did the same. I messed around all through my 20’s, kept dropping out of uni; I finally knuckled down at 33 and got my degree- a 2:1 in English; I’m just finishing my Masters dissertation now- I’ve written 15000 words on how the death of an occupational dialect and the demise of that industry has effected the whole dialect of an area. It was a bloody hard slog and if someone had said to me 15 years ago I could do that I would have laughed in their face. I start a second degree in Sports Science and Law next month- I’m working part time but as I’m now permanently disabled even that’s a huge achievement. It took a traumatic life event for me to see that but it is never ever too late to turn your life around x
Reality is overrated, you will have more fun unmotivated bro
I just had to respond to this topic, as it SO VERY relates to times of how I felt the same way around the same age range as you when I was that age.
Do not ever feel that you've wasted your life! Coming from a 37y/o guy I hand on heart will tell you that at 21 you have SO MANY memorable experiences to come!! 100% guaranteed I promise ya!

I could type a book about my life but that would be long and probably boring for the most part.
But put it this way, Before I was 17 I hoped I'd be settled down by the age of 25 or 30, with a hopeful bedding of maybe 10 girls before doing so.
Yet you know what happened? At 37 I'm still single even after many relationships and even with no kids (that I know of?) I've now been with over 200 women, many of whom were hot ladies. I could've had LOADS more women if I was in it for the numbers if you know what I mean.

Yet I've still sha....."dated"lots of women, I'm probably a 4 -7/10 in the looks department at my age now? These last few years I've not took much effort into my appearance so if I did then I'd probably have had more women after me, but TBH I'm content - I've had 20 times more women than I ever hoped for compared to when I was 16/17.

As for general life and hobbies and job/career, that will just happen. Its not so much to do with qualifications but who you know - as the saying goes? Basically the bigger of a cowdumper you are the better success rate you'll you'll get with work and pay rises. CV's are load of man sacks - the older you get the more you'll realise that, its ALL about experience within a certain job nothing more nothing less.

Age 21, mate seriously. I remember when I was 21 and felt the same way. Trust me, life is only just beginning for you.
Call me an old man all you like LOL - I've got 20ish grey hairs on my chin so f it I'll allow it. When I was 21 I wished I was 16-18. When I was 25-27 I wish I was 21. Now I'm 37, knowing what I know lately age makes none to little difference nowadays. DO NOT worry about it! even slightly.

Just make sure you're earning good enough money then you've got the ultimate freedom to do whatever the f you like.

so i have a friend who was homeschooled on and off for pretty much half her education. she'd spend all day in her house doing nothing in particular. she would read sometimes, write, do artwork and make things and the only time she ever went out was when she'd go food shopping. went on for a good few years. her teenage had no sleepovers, parties, fun evenings, literally nothing. but around 17 she rejoined school. took her a while to adjust, , but still not allowed to socialise. but still went to prom. got good grades then college came, went to a good college, socialising tripled, made good friends, and now her own time to read and make things has reduced which is a shame. she's 20 now and hile she isnt ultra sociable, she does have a reasonably active life. you might see those years as wasted, but those games and videos brought you happiness at the time and kept you engaged and you shouldn't regret anything that you ever enjoyed. besides, everything we watch and do influences us in some way, and even a random puppy video you watched at the age of 15 could make a funny memory and a cool thing to mention in a conversation. Your time on the internet shows your awareness of the world and different things that happen. if challenged to play those games, you'l probably do better than many other people. at 21 you are a bit later than my friend, but i swear if she wouldn't have got lucky she'd still be homeschooled now.
some people live more in a few years than others don't do in their entire lives. 21 is your prime.. if you still think you wasted your life, make a cv and apply for jobs. get a makeover, change your look and make yourself more approachable. join the gym, there are so many young people there. do volunteer work. search online, there are so many opportunities. and don't regret your past, it all adds up to your experience.
Many people feel like this at 21/22. Find what interests you and explore that further in your spare time then eventually it may become your main priority. Many people (males especially) feel they wasted 11-16 playing games so you're not alone there.

There is still plenty opportunity for you: apprenticeships? University as a mature student? Army? Business?

Also start hobbies: gym? Sport? Instrument? Reading? Writing? Films? Music? These things help a lot

Maybe contact old friends or make work friends or just wait to find new friends.

Find your motivation. It's never too late to change and work your way up to a better life.

im 23. i took a working gap year and was far more productive but still plauged with social anxeity and bs habbits. then went to uni i found straight away that i was so under developed socially cos didnt socalise enough when young plus went the whole gap year not talking to someone my age just older people. i went to uni and did the stuff missed out on i ended up snapping half way thru first year searching what the hell is wrong with me and found nofap and started working on myself. and ive done that for 3 years. ive come a long way but there is still work to be done. but as im graduated now and looking for jobs - its a clean slate at present i am firstly finding ways to cut smartphone use down to less than 30 mins a day. and writing down the type of person i want to be and steps on how to achieve that

It's never too late to make something bigger of yourself. Think of it, if you were to make a start in making something better of yourself this would be the driving force behind it

youre in a really good postion. I wish I had this realisation when I was your age or even better at age 14/15. But yeah lets do this!!
I left the army at 21 and started highschool.

I found #parkrun a great way to get nearer to strangers without the pressure to make friends.
Last year I started parkrun, this year with gym.
Didn't lose a pound yet, but feel invigorated.
Much more alive than during the last months in the army.

At 21 you still have 80 years ahead to make a great contribution. And more so if you just switch off the game console and step out of the house.

Im pretty sure youve done a lot in the army and created some unforgettable memories. I on the other hand havent done anything all my life and have had no significant event happening to me that im fond of. Ive wasted my life being a lazy shite and cant believe why tf I didnt put any effort in my life to be productive and live as much as possible cause i acctually used to have these thoughts. But im definitely gonna do my best from now on, hopefully.

Don't beat yourself up about it. Shut down the xbox, get into your shoes and step outside.

In Germany a new trend is walking barefooted. Probably not advised in UK with all the broken glass around.
